Full stack Web Developer

I WATCH is a Tunisian watchdog organisation created after the revolution in 2011. I WATCH works mainly on two axes: transparency and corruption. I WATCH has been the official chapter of Transparency International in Tunisia since September 2019. I WATCH is made up of like-minded young professionals and motivated volunteers who, through their innovative work, are determined to tackle the problem of corruption and lack of transparency in both public and private sectors.

The startup:

I-Techrity is the first ICT4D (ICT for Development) startup in Tunisia. Owned by the organization -I WATCH, I-Techrity is developing technology tools destined to solve issues related to development, integrity, and the public sphere in general. The I-Techrity team commits to innovate in solving social problems and to support civil society/ public institution in finding answers to the social challenges Tunisia is facing.

I WATCH is made up of like-minded young professionals and motivated volunteers who, through their innovative work, are determined to tackle the issue of corruption and lack of integrity in both public and private sectors through laying the foundations of good governance.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We’re looking for a Full Stack Web developer to build great, user friendly products for our community. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a full stack developer, you should be comfortable with both front-end and back-end technologies, development frameworks, third-party APIs and libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and usability. If you enjoy solving complex problems, we’d like to meet you.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Working knowledge of web fundamentals: like HTML/CSS, Javascript etc.

Experience with Laravel or other modern MVC frameworks . (Laravel experience is preferred)

Development experience with a reactive front-end framework (Bootstrap , tailwind, Vue, etc.). Vue.js experience is preferred, but not required.

Experience with applications deployment and linux server management .

Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.

Working knowledge of REST API's.

Working knowledge of security, encryption, and data integration .

Strong working knowledge of Git.

Ability to build, deploy, and maintain web applications.

An eye for UI/UX best practices.

Ability to take a concept from sketch to final implementation.

Ability to work independently or with a group.

Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent project and time management skills.

Experience with (react native or flutter) is a plus (not required).
