Reporting to:                Civil Society Program Manager

Contract:                        12 months (renewable)

Working Hours:            40 hours / week

Location:                       Sfax with travel to other regions (Tunis, Sidi Bouzid, Gafsa, Kairaouen..)

ABOUT US:

I WATCH is a Tunisian watchdog organisation created after the revolution in 2011. I WATCH works mainly on two axes: transparency and corruption. I WATCH has been the official chapter of Transparency International in Tunisia since September 2019. I WATCH is made up of like-minded young professionals and motivated volunteers who, through their innovative work, are determined to tackle the problem of corruption and lack of transparency in both public and private sectors.

BACKGROUND:

Civil Society Program : IASSIST

I-ASSIST is a capacity building program for local civil society launched by IWATCH in 2017 and funded by several donors including the Embassy of the Netherlands, Transparency International, and the European Union. I ASSIST has collaborated with over 80 civil society organizations and 20 radio associations in all 24 governorates of Tunisia to ensure accountability at the local level. The program is build on two values : partnership and networking.

ROLE SUMMARY:

He/she will be responsible for implementing various activities to support partner civil society organizations. Serving as the point of contact for our partners during their project implementations, He/she will assist partner organizations in crafting narrative reports and identifying their training needs. Additionally, he/she will conduct regular mapping missions to identify new partner CSOs. He/She will support the efforts of various departments and coordinate the activities of the organization in Sfax and other nearby regions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct mapping of the CSOs to identify potential partners
  •   Act as the project focal point for all CSOs, working to resolve any complaints or issues with the management of the organization
  •   Monitor CSO’s reports in collaboration with the Grants Manager and the Program manager
  • Coordinate coaching missions and site visits to partner CSOs
  • Coordinate the implementation of the various activities in relation with the CSO program, in close collaboration with the relevant staff members.
  •  Maintain a database of information related to CSO’s
  • Identify and assess training needs for partner CSOs
  •  Review and advise on partner CSOs projects proposals
  •  Insure reporting tasks regarding the CSP program
  •  Maintain a database of information related to stakeholders in the region
  • Support for office accounting (drafting of monthly cash journals, recovery of supporting documents, archiving of accounting documents)

 

This job description is not incorporated into the employment contract. The post holder will be expected to work to agreed objectives, which should facilitate the achievements of the key responsibilities in accordance with the performance review process. 


PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • University degree in Social Sciences, International relations, Legal Studies, NGO management, management, business administration or any other related field.
  • From 0 to 2 years of relevant experience working with local and/or international NGOs. 
  • Strong presentation, writing and management skills
  • Field based experience working with local CSO’s in the region
  • Working flexible hours to engage partners in multiple regions
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, and ability to maintain strong relationships
  • Ability to travel across the country
  • Excellent command of written and spoken French. Good command of both Arabic and English.
  • Commitment to I WATCH’s values and ways of working and to I WATCH’s objectives to promote transparency and anticorruption.

The process will involve a pre-selection based on the CVs and cover letters. Pre-selected candidates will be contacted within 10 days of the application deadline to undergo a 1-hour written technical test  and interview with the selection committee in our office in Sfax. The technical test and the interview will incorporate English, French and Arabic.
